Anticipation is the greatest joy - that might be true.
But when the motorhome looks at you every day in front of the door, the sky and the sun show themselves from their best side, the preparations are actually completed - then you want to go.
We have already moved the Laika twice. On March 17th, there was a workshop appointment at Freizeitcenter Albrecht in Winsen/Luhe. An accident while parking on our yard led to a collision with the carport roof and damage to the motorhome roof. Fortunately, I hit a corner that could be procured as a replacement part
and could be installed at the specialist dealer.
The Freizeitcenter Albrecht in Winsen/Luhe

is the next Laika dealer for us and also an old friend from Rotenburg, Michael, works there as the workshop manager.
During the waiting time, we strolled through the yard with its many exhibition pieces and were amazed at the direction the price spiral has turned. If we were to sell our LAIKA now, we would get more than we paid. Crazy....
By noon, the damage was repaired and we were advised to give the adhesive an additional day of drying time. We had planned for that and only drove 10 kilometers further to Lüneburg, where we managed to secure one of the last places at the city-close parking space An den Sülzwiesen
Boy, oh boy - the motorhome enthusiasts are out early. And the place was fully occupied all weekend long.
In any case, we now know the Lüneburg city center quite well - two days on foot through every alley, and not just once.
I can now confirm the good reviews I heard about Lüneburg in advance. It is a really nice and pleasant city, which is nice to enjoy for a weekend. Small alleys with old houses, rustic pubs (tip: Mälzer Brau and Tafelhaus in Heiligengeiststraße) and historic squares appealed to us.
Enough raving - that should just be a warming-up for the journey starting on April 17th.
We are prepared, the Laika is intact again and we just haven't decided yet how to endure the long time without our sunshine Emmi.
