One of the iconic hostels on the PCT is 'Hikertown'. Almost every hiker stops here for a short break, if not for one or two nights. The entire facility is built in a Wild West style. Each room has its own small building. Everything is kept very simple: there is an 'outdoor shower' with privacy, a garden hose with a tub for laundry, and a small porch with seating in the center of the facility. Additionally, there is a shuttle service to the nearest small grocery store and the atmosphere in the hostel is relaxed and lively.
The next section leads partly along the L.A. Aqueduct. It is a huge, partly above-ground water pipeline that supplies Los Angeles with drinking water. This section is not particularly diverse, but still famous for the PCT section in California.
