Although it's not the fastest way to travel to Kanchanaburi by train, it is definitely one of the most beautiful ways ๐๐ On the way there, you can see many smaller villages, fruit plantations, and lakeshore landscapes.
Almost there...
This time, I didn't book a hostel in advance, I wanted to take a look around first. However, I quickly found the VN Guesthouse (Attention product placement ๐) and got a really great accommodation for 11 euros. Some of the rooms are floating on the water and the view over the Khwae Yai River is fantastic.
New accommodation ๐ @VN guesthouse
On the day of arrival, I didn't have anything else planned, I just wanted to explore the city a bit and visit the JJ Night Market in the evening. Of course, it didn't stop at the market, I also discovered the bar street, Maenamkwai road...๐ โ

... and made new friends๐ because you never sit alone in a bar for long and 2 Italians and a Thai quickly joined me. The 3 of them planned a motorcycle tour to the mountains for the next day, so I joined them spontaneously. Unfortunately, there wasn't a single motorcycle to be found in all of Kanchanamburi... but about 1,000,000 scooters๐คทโโ๏ธ๐
The tour and the people I was allowed to do it with were wonderful. We left Kanchanaburi and went around the Erawan National Park (which I actually wanted to visit on this day, but then the bikers approached me...๐). At the halfway point, we were greeted with an incomparable lake panorama and we crossed it by boat.
End station, now continue by boat ๐
Once we arrived on the other side, we stopped at a floating seafood restaurant๐๐
...and of course there were side dishes as well...๐
After a refreshing meal, we made our way back and made a few small stops along the way.
This panorama... After two hours at the guesthouse, we met in the evening for dinner (of course at a pizzeria with Italians ๐ ) and surprisingly, the pizza was really good!๐คคBiker gang๐ค๐ And so this day came to an end... The next day, it was finally time for the Erawan National Park, which I was looking forward to even from Germany. I took the first bus at 8 a.m. and drove for about 1.5 hours. The bus parked right in front of the entrance, so I could start walking right away.Entrance to the Erawan National Park The waterfalls are spread over seven levels, I decided to walk all the way up to the top, as there are the fewest people there at this time of day (my logic...๐ )From the 5th floor onwards, the ascent was surprisingly strenuous and you sometimes had to do a little climbing, good thing I was wearing my Nikes (another product placement ๐) instead of flip-flops๐7th floor ๐ But after a while, it was too crowded for me here as well, so I decided to fight my way through the bushes ๐... .... With success!A natural pool just for me and no one in sight ๐๐And I'm already in ๐ I stayed in here until I almost dissolved...I think I was in the water for about 1.5 hours, then my cover was blown and I was no longer alone, but it was time to head back anyway๐ฅพ๐The other levels were also nice to see, but I personally prefer to swim with fewer people ๐ A wonderful day in nature, 1000 times more beautiful to visit for me than the cities... #purenature #countrygirl ๐โ Just in time for sunset, I was back in Kanchanaburi ๐ Now just eat and have a Chang beer and then off to bed...
