Right after the school bell rang for me for the last time in 2019, the first journey of the sabbatical began. However, not in backpacker style, but in an extremely sophisticated manner on board the Aida Nova - a cruise ship behemoth that is euphemistically referred to as a ship by the shipping company, but in reality is a small city on the ocean. Or, with the perspective of an interior designer, rather the Las Vegas Strip or an oversized shopping mall. But at least: for a week primarily eating in one of the already very good cafes, bars and restaurants around the clock, lounging in the sun, getting drinks (non-alcoholic, that's all the drink package had to offer) and occasionally going ashore.
Where did it go? Actually, less important, you don't really get to know the places on such a short visit, but still: from Mallorca to La Spezia (and from there with a lovely boat trip to the Cinque Terre), to Rome (stayed on board due to the excessive heat), Marseille (which surprisingly recommended itself for another visit) and Barcelona.
The great thing about the cruise: I would never have done the trip alone, but I didn't have to, thank you Sabine, even Aida is fun with you and so it was a really nice start to the break! And thanks to everyone for one of the weirdest but funniest birthdays (and that at the age of 47, when birthdays are actually as great as funeral parties...)
So, I don't want to write any more, just one more thing: unfortunately, the recovery quickly faded after the cruise, because then it was time to empty the apartment. And it is always surprising how much time one can spend packing all the knick-knacks carefully and properly...
