15 nach Conil de la Frontera

FINALMENTE, la pioggia è cessata e il cielo è parzialmente blu. Un vero e proprio stimolo!! Questo aumenta anche la mia motivazione per intraprendere un tour più lungo verso Cadice. Tuttavia, Cadice è troppo lontana per me, quindi pianifico un tour fino a Canil de la Frontera. Secondo Komoot sono quasi 100 chilometri. Alla fine saranno 108 e oltre un chilometro di dislivello.

Nonostante la secchezza nell'aria, le pozzanghere sono ancora lì e non si può escludere un acquazzone. Già al chilometro 10 vedo un arcobaleno e poco dopo piove a dirotto. Per fortuna dura solo circa un minuto e basta così per tutto il giorno.

Proseguo bene nonostante le salite. Principalmente su sentieri di ghiaia ben battuti. Andare in bicicletta attraverso questo parco naturale sembra essere popolare tra i ciclisti; spesso incontro singoli o gruppi in arrivo. Il parco stesso mi ricorda molto le aree qui da noi, non c'è più una sola palma da vedere, ma solo mucche, pecore e capre. Poi passo attraverso un enorme parco eolico, ci sono centinaia di queste grandi turbine eoliche che generano elettricità.

All'improvviso vedo a soli 20 metri un ciclista barbuto che mi ricorda molto Alex. Lascia la sua bicicletta a terra e viene attraverso il prato verso di me. Ma non parla svizzero tedesco, parla inglese perfetto. Si chiama Matthias, è dalla Grecia e sta viaggiando da 2 mesi. Anche questo è stato un incontro breve ma molto gradevole. Sono sicuro che ce ne saranno altri.

La strada principale, che ho dovuto prendere per alcuni chilometri, oggi non è stata un problema. Era solo a due corsie e aveva una corsia di emergenza, nella quale mi sono sentito a mio agio.

Poi ci sono stati molti chilometri che ho potuto percorrere tranquillamente su piste ciclabili accanto alla strada. Quando sono stata sicura di poter arrivare a Canil, ho prenotato l'alloggio pianificato, che mi è sembrato economico e perfetto per me.

Canil de la Fontera si trova su un pendio e tutte le case sono bianche. Questo conferisce al luogo un aspetto molto particolare. In estate questo posto è letteralmente invaso dai turisti. In questo momento è tranquillo e mi godo la serata calda, riflettendo sulla giornata con una birra e scrivendo questo post sul blog.

FINALLY, the rain has stopped and the sky is partly blue. A real pick-me-up!! That also boosts my motivation to do a longer tour towards Cadiz. Cadiz is too far away for me, though, so I plan a tour to Canil de la Frontera. According to Komoot, it's just under 100 kilometers. In the end, it's 108 and over a kilometer in elevation.

Despite the dryness in the air, the puddles are still there and a shower cannot be ruled out. At kilometer 10 I see a rainbow and shortly afterwards it rains heavily. Luckily, only for about a minute and that's it for the whole day.

I make good progress despite the inclines. Mostly on hard-packed gravel paths. Cycling through this nature park seems to be popular with cyclists, I often come across individuals or groups. The park itself reminds me a lot of areas here, there aren't a single palm tree to be seen anymore, just cows, sheep and goats. Then I ride through a huge wind farm, there are hundreds of these large wind turbines that generate electricity.

Suddenly, just 20 meters away, I see a bearded cyclist who reminds me a lot of Alex. He puts his bike on the ground and comes across the meadow to me. But he doesn't speak Swiss German, but he speaks perfect English. He is from Greece, his name is Matthias, and he has been on the road for 2 months. That was also a short but very nice encounter. I am sure that more will follow.

The main road, which I had to take for a few kilometers, was no problem today. It was only two lanes and had a hard shoulder that I felt comfortable on.

Then there were many kilometers that I could easily ride on cycle paths next to the road. When I was sure that I could reach Canil, I booked the planned accommodation, which seemed cheap and just right for me.

Canil de la Fontera is on a slope and all the houses are white. This gives the town a very special appearance. In summer this place is literally overrun by tourists. At the moment it is peaceful and I am enjoying the warm evening to reflect on the day with a beer and write this blog entry.
