The night was very short again. Nevertheless, we slept a little bit better. However, we are still tired. We cannot say whether it is due to the time change, the long days, or the constant changing of hotels. We get ready in a routine manner, have breakfast, pack our backpack and wait again for the shuttle that drops us off at the Animal Kingdom at the same time as yesterday. However, today we take a different connecting bus, which takes us directly to the Hollywood Studios.
Yesterday, I didn't mention that every guest has to go through a metal detector and, if they have a backpack, a complete examination of it. Fortunately, it doesn't take long.
The Disney Universal Studios mainly consist of shows, performances, character events, and few roller coasters or attractions. Completely different from yesterday, but actually just right for us. We also directly experience a parade of the 1st order with stormtroopers from Star Wars.
Today, we navigate through the park in a more coordinated manner. Our first attractions are a small cinema with films about Star Wars, a 4D cinema ride in a spacecraft through space, and a 30-minute stunt show by Indiana Jones. The set was huge and could be completely moved. That was pretty cool.
After a little refreshment, we continue to work through the park. We experienced the two faster roller coasters with a 50-minute waiting time one after the other. In the first case, it was a cursed house where we were trapped in an elevator (sitting). It was then raised a few floors, then pushed horizontally across a complete floor into another shaft, and after a short period of darkness, we were shot up and dropped with the cabin. It really churned the stomach, but it was pretty cool. The second coaster was the Aerosmith roller coaster. First, you had to wait in the hallway of a built music studio, then you were placed in the roller coaster, and Aerosmith played on each wagon while you drove back and forth in a huge tower with several trains, even upside down in the dark. All the roller coasters and sets are constructed with a lot of effort and take longer than we are used to from German parks.
Now let's talk about the shows we watched today. We started with a live performance of Beauty and the Beast - of course shortened to 30 minutes. In the afternoon, there was a show about Pixar soundtracks with a live orchestra. In the background, edited Pixar films were shown and the orchestra played the film music. In between, all the stars came on stage to match the films. Cars, Monsters Inc., The Incredibles, Up, Finding Nemo, I think they were all there.
In between, we watched a 3D short film of The Muppet Show. For our last show, we were allowed to ride a gondola through a 20-minute path in the replica Chinese Theater, which showed us the film highlights of the last 50 years as a kind of rooms and models. A nice conclusion to 2 days at Disney World.
The return trip was easier again. The Disney bus to the pick-up station of the shuttle bus and then just hoping that it will come soon. On the way back, I briefly closed my eyes because I was just so exhausted from the day.
Tonight, we only have to find a pick-up station for our rental car tomorrow and then it's time to travel again. This afternoon, we also passed the halfway point of our honeymoon. 11.5 days are behind us. 11.5 more to go.
Next stop: Miami!
