I continue heading east on Route 1.
First stop, GLUGGAFOSS, a small but beautiful waterfall set in a magnificent environment.
Second stop, SELJALANDSFOSS, one of my favorites. A truly beautiful waterfall, reminiscent of Bridal Falls in Yosemite National Park in the USA.
Third stop, SKOGAFOSS, also a wonderful waterfall. I stayed at Skogafoss Campsite, right below the waterfall by the river. A very nice place. Very good restaurant on site, as well as a hotel. Here you can buy day tickets for the hot pools.
Fourth stop, DYRHOLAEY. Beautiful rock formation in the sea. Black rock on the lava beach.
Fifth stop, REYNISFJARA. Monolith blocks on the black lava beach. Rock formations in the sea.
Sixth stop, FJADRARGLJUFUR. A 100-meter deep and 1 km long canyon that has it all! Great waterfall at the end of the canyon. Definitely worth seeing! The walls are made of Palagonite from the Ice Age, looks really cool. It was formed about 9,000 years ago.
