Highlight of the day: Feet up and enjoying the peace.
After sleeping longer than usual, I had to take care of many things that I usually push to the background. This includes all the things related to personal care. When hiking, it's important to have short toenails without any corners. That's why I carry nail files with me, which I use to file my nails every 2 to 3 days. This way, there is no pressure on the toes, which otherwise can lead to pain and black toenails.
So far, I haven't gotten any blisters, but if I do, I know how to treat them like legionnaires: I always have a sewing kit in my backpack. If I have a blister, I take a needle and thread it through the blister. Then I thread it through the loop so that the thread sticks out on both sides. Next, I cut the thread on both sides, leaving about 2 cm of thread on each side. This way, any excess fluid can always drain out and no new pressure builds up. 🪡
Even though I only walked around the city a little bit afterwards, I still covered a total of 6.68 km today. However, the overall distance remains unchanged at 229.1 km.
