Highlight of the day: Completed the loop around Lake Geneva and my adventure is over.
When I woke up last night, I searched the internet for accommodation around Dagmersellen, but didn't find anything reasonable. However, since it wasn't so important for my second to last stage, I postponed finding a solution. When I said goodbye to my BnB shortly before 8am to meet Egon at the train station, I still didn't have a solution. For me, it was clear that in terms of fitness and health, I would sleep at home.
In the GPS, I still entered Dagmersellen as the destination with Reiden as an alternative. Either way, it was the same way until St. Urban. I definitely wanted to show Egon the beautiful church and the famous choir stalls. Due to the Easter service, we could only take a quick look inside the church.
Komoot indicated that there were many meters of altitude waiting for us today. In the end, it was 680 meters that we had to overcome. We always hoped that we could reach the altitude of 700 meters at least once, but we never made it over 690 meters.
We waited a long time to find a good picnic spot. Above all, it should protect us from the strong winds and offer a place to sit.
Just when we were about to give up hope, we saw a place at the edge of the forest that exceeded our wildest expectations. It was a picnic spot with everything you could wish for, except water. Since we had enough drinks with us, that was not a problem either.
Strengthened and with new energy, we continued towards Dagmersellen. After I decided to hike all the way home, we changed the destination to Nebikon. There was a train station for Egon and it was the shortest way home for me.
After a final beer, we said goodbye and I set off alone towards St. Erhard. Now I was back in my hometown and knew all possible routes.
Brigitte came towards me and in the end, we met above Wauwil. Together, we covered the remaining kilometers on foot.
With a happy feeling, we arrived home together, completing the circumnavigation of Lake Geneva.
