With Warsaw, we visit the fifth and final capital on this tour. The lovingly restored center is a strong contrast to the rather run-down outskirts. Characteristic of the Old Town are the colorful, narrow houses on the Market Square.
Unusually much of the old fortifications and city walls are well preserved.
Unfortunately, some buildings can only be seen in scaffolding.
The skyline is appropriate for a city of one million inhabitants and is dominated by the Palace of Culture and Science, a 1950s skyscraper.
As can be seen in the last few days, churches must of course not be missing. For the first time in our blog, this is a Protestant church.
