Escursione all'Università dell'Iowa
Il quarto giorno del nostro viaggio ricco di eventi, abbiamo visitato l'Università dell'Iowa. Abbiamo visitato gli edifici e trascorso la giornata lì.
La mia giornata è iniziata alle 7 del mattino a casa della mia famiglia ospitante. Prima di andare a scuola, ho fatto colazione. Dopo, mi sono preparata per la scuola e sua madre mi ha portato lì. Nella nostra scuola superiore ci siamo riuniti tutti nella stanza di tedesco. Quando ci siamo seduti lì, abbiamo parlato molto e riso insieme. Ci siamo anche scambiati le esperienze di ciò che abbiamo fatto ieri con le nostre famiglie ospitanti. Con un 'sacchetto di patatine salutari', abbiamo aspettato di essere prelevati dall'autobus che ci ha portato all'università alle 9:30.
Alle 9:45 eravamo seduti sull'autobus - un tipico autobus giallo.
45 minuti dopo, ora ci troviamo davanti all'Università dell'Iowa. Qui siamo stati accolti molto calorosamente.
Ci è stata offerta una visita interessante e abbiamo guardato gli edifici. Era mozzafiato, ci sono così tante opzioni. Quello che mi ha affascinato di più è stato l'edificio sportivo, era molto grande e variegato. Dopo il tour, siamo andati a pranzo. C'era un enorme buffet con pizza, pasta, hamburger, wrap, yogurt bar e dessert bar. Eravamo tutti più che sazi.
Dopo pranzo, siamo andati a vedere un albero nel campus, che è collegato ad Anne Frank. Lì ci è stata raccontata qualcosa della sua storia.
Intorno all'1:30 siamo partiti per il viaggio di ritorno a Cedar Rapids. Dopo essere tornati a scuola, ci siamo divisi. Alcuni dei nostri ospiti erano ancora a scuola, gli altri avevano terminato le lezioni.
Nel pomeriggio ognuno ha fatto qualcosa di diverso con il proprio ospite e ha concluso l'impressionante giorno.
L'Università dell'Iowa era molto, molto grande e diversificata. È stato interessante vedere quante possibilità ci sono lì.

Trip to the University of Iowa
On the fourth day of our eventful trip, we visited the University of Iowa. We viewed the buildings and spent the day there.
My day started at 7 o’clock at my host family home. Before going to school, I had breakfast. After that I got ready for school and her mom drove me there. In our high school we all found ourselves in the German room. When we were all sitting there, we talked a lot and laughed together. We also exchanged what we did yesterday with our host families. With a 'healthy chip bag', we waited to be picked up by the bus that took us to the university at 9:30 a.m.
9:45 a.m. we sit on the bus – a typical yellow school bus.
45 minutes later, we are now in front of the University of Iowa. Here we were received very warmly.
There was an interesting tour and we looked at the buildings. It was breathtaking, there are so many options. I was most fascinated by the sports building, it was very large and varied. After the tour we went to dinner. There was a huge buffet with pizza, pasta, burgers, wraps, yogurt bar and dessert bar. We were all so full.
After lunch we went to a tree on campus, which is connected to Anne Frank. There we were told something about their history.
Around 1:30 p.m. we started the return trip to Cedar Rapids. After we got back to school, we split up. Some of our hosts were still in school, the others had finished school.
In the afternoon everyone did something different with their host and ended the impressive day.
The University of Iowa was very large and diverse. It was interesting to see how many possibilities you have there.
