After finally tearing ourselves away from our peaceful spot, we continued towards the 'Plain of Six Glaciers'. This stage of our hike would take another 5 kilometers until we reached the destination, which was another teahouse located right next to a glacier with a view over the entire Lake Louise. But since this was only the one-way distance and we also had to hike back to the lake, we weren't quite sure if we would have enough time. But we decided to give it a try.
Now the easiest part of the hike had begun. It was all downhill from here. Along the way, we had a magnificent view of the lake, shimmering in a deep turquoise color. The closer we got to the glacier, the more snow blocked our path. We had to fight our way through snow masses that had fallen onto the trail from avalanches during the melting season. The weather also got worse. Gray clouds gathered in the sky, holding either rain or snow. Time was also against us. In the end, we didn't quite make it and ended up turning towards Lake Louise at the next junction. It's a shame, but the decision was probably a good one because it started raining on the way back to the lake. Fortunately, not for long. Along the way, we encountered some of our animal friends again, squirrels. The path eventually led us to the other end of the lake, so we could walk back to the starting point along the shore.
Even though we didn't complete the entire hike, we still had a beautiful day of hiking. Although it didn't seem like it at first, we did find some peaceful spots in the midst of the amazing nature. We also enjoyed beautiful views of the lakes, mountains, and glaciers. The weather was somewhat favorable today. It was cool and cloudy with a brief shower, but overall it was okay. We saw many cute animals again, covered some elevation gain, and could definitely go to bed happy and satisfied at the end of the day :)
