Hello everyone,
today we had to say goodbye for the second time. This time from Yosemite National Park.
It was really hard for us because we collected a lot of great impressions here.
But the coast was calling us, so we got back in our Chrysler and headed towards Monterey.
Along the way, we fulfilled Maxi's wish:
To sit in a REAL American diner (one on the roadside with a big window front) and eat a REAL American breakfast (including free coffee).
The rest of the drive went exactly as you imagine a road trip through the USA to be. Driving straight ahead for hours. Occasionally, we passed a chicken farm or a small town, and that was it.
Then we arrived in Gilroy. None of you reading this blog will know this city right away. Just like us.
You can smell Gilroy before you see it!
The smell of garlic crawled into every little opening of our car. With a quick look at Wikipedia, we found out that we had arrived in the garlic capital of the world! You can only experience something like this on a road trip without a navigation system.
So now we are at the third stop. Monterey is known to many as a golf mecca. It will remain in our memory as a beautiful coastal town with many beautiful corners and even more sea lions and sea otters.
Especially great was dinner in a Mexican restaurant right above the ocean. Here, you could watch the sea otters swim between guacamole and jalapenos 😍 You can see the view in the photo with the sunset 🌅.
Tomorrow morning, we have a highlight planned: we will take a boat out to the sea and observe whales and hopefully a few dolphins 😍
After that, we will continue to San Simeon.
See you tomorrow and many greetings,
Verena and Maxi
