Before heading to the next stage today, the National Library in Dublin was on the agenda - or rather the first (and hopefully only) disappointment of the vacation. The reading room was closed today... However, there was a little highlight - the luxurious, old toilets including a cozy seating area. The small market hall we visited afterwards, George's Street Arcade, was a bit of a letdown - just knick-knacks.
So, we decided to pick up our rental car earlier and even got a free upgrade to the next bigger class so we didn't have to wait. After driving Clarissa crazy the past two days with my excitement, the actual driving went smooth (except for occasional reminders to drive on the left after turning - at this point, I should mention that it was Clarissa who reminded me that it should be left and not right...). We quickly left Dublin behind and headed south.
We then took the coastal road after getting off the highway.
In Courttown, we had our lunch break. We wanted to have our meal by the sea in brilliant sunshine when suddenly a downpour poured over us.
After that, we continued leisurely to our accommodation in Duncannon. With absolutely stunning views. We will be staying about 20m from the beach for the next two nights and enjoying the view of the sea from the (unfortunately very narrow) bed.
We spent the evening in the only pub in town (the other one is on sale) playing a round or two of Ludo.
