Twizel - Pelennor Fields

(An Elvish hello for all the nerds among you)

I'm just posting this post as a bit of information for my nerdy friends. Before and after I drove to Aoraki/Mount Cook I stopped off in Twizel. Here and in the immediate vicinity are the Pelennor Fields. A filming location for Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King. The final battle was filmed here and as I drove through this huge landscape I felt a little like I was also plunging into the unknown. Unfortunately there were a few clouds, especially at the beginning, which meant that visibility was a little worse than hoped. It's really great to see how many places in the films were left as they actually are in New Zealand.
