Hello hello,
I'm still excited about this diving trip. The diving school itself will certainly not be my favorite, as the communication was rather subpar and, especially at the beginning, we had no idea how the day would go and all the information and questions had to be extracted from the employee's nose. As this was my first diving trip booked independently of a diving course, I felt very abandoned until we got on the boat and almost straight to the island.
Unfortunately, in the future I will definitely have to make sure that I have anti-seasickness tablets with me when I go on boat trips or diving trips like this, because unfortunately I got pretty seasick on the way there and then at the surface break. The crew looked after me very well, but I still felt most comfortable on the floor and lying down.
The dives were in the Baía de Flandres and on my first wreck, the Primavera. I saw 3 octopuses, a starfish, lots of fish, a conger eel (very very scary) and small jumping sunfish on the surface. So I once again saw new animals underwater in the wild and the diving itself went like clockwork. The underwater balance is also getting better and better and I am very, very sure that I will definitely continue this hobby and would also like to continue my training here.
What was also pretty cool was that we were able to see the island up close and also see the fort and lighthouse from the water.
In this last photo please pay attention to a pretty broken Britta who has made herself comfortable in the sun and on the bottom of the boat as a precaution. I don't look it, but I was pretty happy at that moment. Unfortunately, the expression on my face couldn't express that because I had to concentrate very much on remaining in control of my bladder because I had to pee more urgently than ever before in my life. At this point we still had 45 minutes until the nearest toilet and until the last moment I really thought my bladder was going to burst. I actually thought about jumping back into the water because I almost couldn't take it anymore. Thanks to preferential treatment from the group “F**k I have to pee so bad!” When we arrived at the port we all made it to the toilet in time.
Afterwards we went shopping, drove through the city of Peniché and then back to the campsite and I was really exhausted when I got there.
So the next day I slept in and had a quiet day, but I still continued driving and looked at Caldas da Rainha.
But more on that in my next post.
Your Britta
