The next day, I immediately started visiting apartments with various agents in Xiamen. There are very different apartments in very different surroundings here. First, you should be clear about which area you would like to live in. Then you can consider which apartment to choose (which takes enough time).
I was able to clarify the question regarding the residential area during my last visit in March of this year. I only had to convince my husband. Since I already had the feeling back then that I had searched the whole island and almost seen every apartment, I now wanted to take care of the area I had selected.
For us, it is important that we are not too far away from my husband's company so that he can ride his bike to work. In addition, we would like to live relatively quietly, be able to use public transportation, and not live right in the city center or old town, as it is always a bit noisier there.
Two bathrooms are absolutely necessary, and if possible, 3 bedrooms.
These are relatively high demands, I know :o)
Let's see what we will find.
After a week of intensive apartment hunting, I had 3 apartments that I wanted to take another look at with my husband.
One on the 7th floor, unfortunately on the street and a bit noisy. The balcony was very small. But we really liked the furnishings and the open kitchen.
An apartment in the park, 7th floor, was my favorite (the walls were green :o)). But the kitchen was in very poor condition. On the other hand, the balcony was very nice.
The third apartment was unfurnished but on the 24th floor, near BRT (but construction site!!!). It was a very sterile, new building. I didn't really like it.
Believe it or not, it's not easy to decide on an apartment.
Here in China, you can change apartments relatively quickly. Moves can take place within 1 to 2 days. That would not be possible at home.
In the end, we decided on an apartment in the park, (16th floor), two nice bathrooms, bright kitchen, view of the greenery. We will certainly not regret this decision.
So the rental agreement could now be made by the company.
There is a gas stove in the kitchen. You have to get used to it a bit :o)
Two days later, we signed the contract together with the owner of the apartment. Various uncertainties were discussed and documented in writing.
