The day starts with a lot of tiredness. Even though I slept for 8 hours straight! These must be the side effects of the medication. Everything takes a bit longer in the morning. But the muesli helps get through the beginning.
The route is beautiful, even though it has a few larger climbs at the beginning. We push a few times. Take breaks. Take photos.
Then suddenly it goes downhill instead of uphill. I was always waiting for the climb, where the elevation curve doesn't leave any room...
But it turned out to be a very pleasant ride. We already joke that it's like a class trip 😂
We buy groceries in a picturesque village in a small town. As usual, I communicate with hands and feet; and a few fragments of Italian 🙈 I buy ham, cheese, bread rolls, zucchini, and tomatoes. And once some iced tea for a different taste than water!
We arrive in Bassano del Grappa at half past 10 in the morning. We visit the city. Then we go to the river for lunch. Idyllic, delicious (you remember: the result is Ratatouille). We just wanted to lie down for a bit and suddenly we fell asleep. A mouse (!!!) wakes me up and then I am wide awake again. I quickly wash up and then we continue 2.5 km to the 'camping'. A stone's throw away;)
However, the camping site is just a pitch. But very quiet next to a care home.
We go shopping at the nearby Coop. We're going to have paella. And we want a salad with it. Not so easy without salad dressing... We take a celery salad and mix it with the 'right' salad.
Since we actually wanted a cold beer and the restaurant is unexpectedly closed, we go to the gas station. But they don't have anything. A bar 200m further is like an oasis!
The paella is wonderful with seafood from a so-called “insalata”.
We end the evening with wine.
