Now it's time to go to Costa Rica from Madrid. My first flight is from Madrid to San Jose.
I was very lucky with the seat selection. I was sitting right next to an emergency exit with lots of legroom, so I could stretch my legs on the 11-hour flight.
After a night in San Jose, I continued north to Tamarindo on a small plane. The boarding pass was already a highlight before the flight began.
This was then given back at the boarding gate. I flew for 55 minutes from the capital to the province of Guanacaste on a small propeller plane, where you can even watch the pilot work.
I was picked up at the airport by my future boss. He also took me directly to a meeting, so I started working right away. I didn't expect that and regretted wearing long pants for the short flight. It was definitely around 35°C at noon.
After the meeting, we drove from Tamarindo to Potrero, where my accommodation is located. I was totally surprised when I was told that I have a small apartment all to myself for the next 6 months.
There are about 25 such apartments in this area, and most of the employees of ConnectOcean, the dive center where I will be working, live here as well. It's a really nice place and I'm looking forward to the next 6 months. I had the afternoon off today to set up my apartment, but tomorrow it's already starting =)
