Day 12: Monkey Mia - Fowlers Camp

In the morning at 7:30 am, the two big guys march to the beach for dolphin feeding. It doesn't take long and Maxima is also awake and of course wants to join. I bring her to Michi and Samuel and also get a little glimpse of the 'Dolphin Show' (3 feedings in the morning, with about 250, 150 and 50 spectators and up to 6 dolphins). It's great to get so close to the dolphins, especially for the kids. But during our dives, we have already seen dolphins up close several times, so Monkey Mia is not an absolute must for divers.

Today, we're having a lazy Sunday at Monkey Mia Dolphin Resort: extended breakfast, swimming in the pool, playground, snack for lunch ... We ask at the reception a few more times if anything has become available. However, the resort is fully booked except for two rooms (315 AUD per night) and our camper is unfortunately too big for an unpowered site. So it's time to say goodbye and we set off towards the south in the afternoon.

For today, we choose the complete opposite of Monkey Mia - solitude without any comfort. We will be staying overnight at a bush camp in Shark Bay (free campsite by the sea). In Denham, we refuel and buy the essentials, namely bread and milk.

We decide to stay at Fowlers Camp. A beautiful spot on earth! We enjoy the late afternoon at the site and then take a short walk. There we meet our only camping neighbor - a solo traveler in his 40s from French Switzerland. We exchange travel experiences and continue on our way. Unfortunately, we don't have a nice sunset tonight. It's cloudy and the evening sun disappears in a sea of clouds.

Our bush menu today is sausages with potatoes and sauerkraut.

From our roof hatch, we have a great view of the bay. It's almost a full moon, which bathes everything in a beautiful light!
