Of course, we were damn tired the next morning. We immediately looked for a spot on the campsite and, obedient to my circulation, spent the day lying down... 30°C= breathing, drinking, bathing, dozing in the shade. That's all. Until the evening brought some cooling down and we went on an exploration tour. A festival of lights with many floating candles brought romance to the holiday start, the red wine tasted good, the brain started working again and the next day had to be planned: Hiking?!?!?! With these temperatures!?!?!? That's only possible very early in the morning. Micha surprisingly agreed quickly, which I attribute to the Aperol Spritz. ;-)
So we got up with the 6 o'clock bells ringing and managed to climb up to the mountain villages at 7 o'clock. From Oggiogno we enjoyed a magical view over Lake Maggiore before continuing uphill to Alpe Ronno with freshly filled water bottles. A small enclave in the mountains with very, very old stone houses and dreamy donkeys. Admirable is the enthusiasm of individuals who lovingly take on the restoration of these houses. When your 'own' little house is just finished, you have a completely different view of the details... beams, lintels, door latches, construction plates, etc.
Finally, I was able to understand my technique and our blog is finally coming to life.
