Currently we are in Panajachel before heading to Semuc Champey tomorrow morning.
As promised, I checked if you can really grab cheap souvenirs here and yes you can :) There is a stand with all kinds of stuff on every corner. But always negotiate, you usually get the items for half the price ;D There is not much else to see here, so we thought let's go to Santa Cruz. We had read on the internet that it's supposed to be nice here too.
Off to the ferry, rushed to Santa Cruz and let's go. First, we had to go up a super steep hill, where we had to take a break halfway for a drink. We are really so thirsty :D Then we decided to take a tuk-tuk to the center, you don't splurge on anything else. When we arrived there, we had to realize that there is simply...nothing :D The place is a schoolyard and the church that was shown to us is, well, let's call it a chapel. But hey, we had a nice view from the café.
On the spur of the moment, we decided to go back to San Pedro. The food was just too good and there is also beautiful jewelry there ;)
Oh, here is also a picture of the amazing Sarita ice cream. How could I have withheld that from you. I have never eaten anything so delicious. We have tried almost everything and are regular customers by now :D
Just a quick note about the ferries here, so you shouldn't think that someone will help you or do anything for you. No, you can do that yourself. You have to look very desperate for someone to take pity on you :D
