Oggi ho raggiunto un altro obiettivo intermedio. I miei amici cechi vivono a Úvaly, un grande villaggio appena fuori Praga. Ieri mi hanno supportato con il mio problema alla bici elettrica, per cui sono molto grato. Cercare e organizzare qualcosa è molto più facile nella lingua locale, e quindi sono riuscito a partire ieri dopo tutto.

Questa mattina non vedevo l'ora di affrontare la seconda parte del percorso lungo il fiume Elba. Questa gioia è stata un po' diminuita dalla realtà. Ci sono state alcune strade e molti sentieri con terreno sconnesso. Alcuni avrei potuto evitarli usando le strade, ma non volevo farlo. La pista ciclabile dell'Elba mi aveva già attratto. E poiché il terreno era asciutto, è andata abbastanza bene. In questa parte, il percorso seguiva direttamente l’Elba per un lungo tratto. È lì che ho visto le prime navi. A Kolín, proprio a metà del mio percorso di oggi, ho dovuto separarmi dall'Elba.

Kolin si chiama Kölner in tedesco, cioè il Kölner ceco, anch'esso situato lungo un fiume, l'Elba. Il Kölner tedesco si trova sul Reno. Anche Kolín ha bellissimi edifici; mi è piaciuto subito. Ma il mio obiettivo di oggi era ancora a più di 40 chilometri di distanza. E come ho visto, in questa parte non c'erano né piste ciclabili né banchine. Quindi, strade con traffico e molte auto?

Bene, anche qui dovevo andare avanti e semplicemente partire. Poco dopo, sono arrivato a una strada secondaria senza traffico. E così è rimasta fino al mio obiettivo. Komoot mi ha veramente entusiasmato. A volte ho dovuto ignorare coraggiosamente i divieti di accesso, il che si è rivelato giusto. Già al mattino ho trascurato un divieto di accesso e ho goduto di molti chilometri su un asfalto fresco senza incontrare altri veicoli.

Hoy he alcanzado otro objetivo intermedio. Mis amigos checos viven en Úvaly, un gran pueblo a las afueras de Praga. Ellos me apoyaron ayer con mi problema en la e-bike, por lo cual estoy muy agradecido. Buscar y organizar algo es mucho más fácil en el idioma local, y por eso pude empezar ayer, después de todo.

Esta mañana esperaba con ansias la segunda parte de la ruta a lo largo del Elba. Esta alegría se vio algo disminuida por la realidad. Hubo algunas calles y muchos caminos con suelo suelto. Algunos de ellos los podría haber evitado utilizando carreteras, pero no quise hacerlo. La ruta del Elba me había llamado la atención. Y como el terreno estaba seco, la ruta fue bastante buena. En esta parte, el camino seguía a lo largo del Elba durante un largo tramo. Ahí vi los primeros barcos. En Kolín, justo a la mitad de mi recorrido de hoy, tuve que separarme del Elba.

Kolin se llama en alemán Kölner, es decir, el Kölner checo, también situado a un río, el Elba. El Kölner alemán está en el Rin. Kolín también tiene edificios muy bonitos, me gustó de inmediato. Pero mi objetivo de hoy aún estaba a más de 40 kilómetros. Y como vi, en esta parte no había ni carriles para bicicletas ni arcenes. Entonces, ¿caminos con tráfico y muchos coches?

Bueno, también aquí tenía que seguir adelante y simplemente partí. Poco después, llegué a una carretera secundaria sin tráfico. Y así permaneció hasta mi destino. Komoot me entusiasmó realmente. A veces tuve que ignorar valientemente las prohibiciones de acceso, lo cual fue correcto. Ya en la mañana pasé por alto una prohibición de entrada, y disfruté durante muchos kilómetros sobre un asfalto nuevo sin encontrar ningún otro vehículo.

Today I reached another interim goal. My Czech friends live in Úvaly, a large village just outside Prague. They helped me yesterday with my e-bike damage, for which I am very grateful. Searching for and organizing things is much easier in the local language, and so I was able to start yesterday after all.

This morning, I was looking forward to the second part of the tour along the Elbe. This joy was somewhat diminished by reality. There were some roads and many paths with loose surfaces. Some of them I could have bypassed using the roads, but I didn’t want to. The Elbe Cycle Path had already tempted me. And since the ground was dry, it went quite well. On this part, the path followed directly along the Elbe for a long time. That’s when I saw the first ships. In Kolín, right in the middle of my tour today, I had to part ways with the Elbe.

Kolin is called Kölner in German, meaning the Czech Kölner, also situated along a river, the Elbe. The German Kölner is on the Rhine. Kolin also has very beautiful buildings; I liked it immediately. However, my destination today was still over 40 kilometers away. And as I saw, there were neither bike paths nor shoulders on this part. So, roads with traffic and many cars?

Well, I had to get through that as well and just set off. Soon after, I came upon a side street with no traffic. And it stayed that way until my destination. Komoot really amazed me. At times, I had to bravely ignore road restrictions, which turned out to be right. From Kolín, I regularly informed David about my position so he knew roughly when I would arrive. There just wasn’t enough time to organize the parade and brass music.

In return, I was warmly welcomed by Lucie and David in their lovely home. And I was very happy to see them again, as well as to have reached an important stage goal for me.

I have already traveled over three thousand kilometers on this journey, and it’s not guaranteed that I will achieve that. So much can intervene, like yesterday’s breakdown or something even worse.

Just now, I was able to use the washing machine and wash my clothes once again. I’ve hung them up now, and the sun and the wind are helping me to dry them.
