Centovalli

Full compensation for yesterday! We start in mist and clouds and drive into the mountains towards Monte Pian Bello through a national park. The road is narrow and winds through the forest and fern slopes. It is very winding, but except for a few bends, it is very nice to drive! As the route progresses, the sun breaks through more and more and allows breathtaking views of the lake.

Sheep and goats run freely up here and also use the road, you have to be prepared for everything!

Then we go back down to the lake to Cannobio, from the lakeside road then left back into the mountains. Again a wonderful valley, along whose slopes the road winds. In Malesco we stop at the market square and eat ice cream and enjoy delicious cappuccino.

Then comes the highlight of the tour, the drive through the Centovalli with its deep gorges, viaducts and endless curves. For me one of the most beautiful motorcycle routes in the area! We stop in Intragna at the Grotto del Rii, where we stayed 10 years ago. There is a terrace from which you can see deep into a gorge with a waterfall. The food there is also very delicious. But since the room was extremely small and noisy at the time, we didn't want to stay there anymore.

A short time later we are in Locarno. We park by the lake and take another break in a nice little café on the lakeside promenade. Then we drive back to the hotel along the lakeshore.
