Due to the weather conditions (rain), we are changing our plan to go to Abel Tasman National Park and heading towards the east coast. Our route initially follows the Buller River, whose course reminds me a lot of the Danube in the Wachau. Then we cross the Buller Gorge via New Zealand's longest swing bridge, over the Lewis Pass to Hanmer Springs, a place famous for its thermal springs. Since it is very humid, we will skip the hot springs 😂
Tomorrow we will head towards Kaikoura and hope to see whales and dolphins there.
