Chan Chan and my Birthday

प्रकाशित: 03.01.2017

After arriving with the 24 hours bus in Trujillo we took directly a taxi to the nearby little coast town Huanchaco. On the way we already passed by the popular ruins of Chan Chan, which we were going to visit later.

We chose to stay in Huanchaco for spending my birthday in a nice laid back location which has access to the sea. People come there mainly for surfing and to visit Chan Chan.

As we visited the last-mentioned on a sunny day we were amazed by it just with the informations we got out of a lonely planet. But that was it again with informations, because nothing is explained or written in the ruins. You have to take a guide to get them. For us too expansive, so it remained in our memory again just as another impressive ruin without getting background information and knowledge. The near by museum wasn't that revealing either.

On my birthday Léa surprised me with a little birthday cake which wasn't containing lactose, yaaay! In the evening we started drinking and our plan was to check out a nearby hostel where a Australian guy was staying who we met again in Huanchaco by accident. The first time we met him in Guatapé, Colombia. The world is a village, again! So he told us, it's a nice hostel for having a drink or a good party.

So we had some drinks with other travelers on their rooftop. It was a quite funny night and we had good talks. When they found out that it was my birthday they spend some drinks and as a gift I got a t-shirt from the hostel. Even though the shirt was way too small, I was very happy about all that, because I really didn't expect anything for my birthday and by that, you really appreciate the small things, even just a warm 'happy birthday' from a stranger.

Soon we left Huanchaco already for reaching Lima in time, because Léas mother was about to visit us. We didn't know by that time, we would have had a short but amazing stop in between in the little town of Huaraz.

To be continued...
