Day 6 - Addo
The alarm clock rang at half past 7 and woke us up rudely from our dreams. After an excellent breakfast, we set off towards Addo Elephant Park, which was only 9km away from our honeymoon suite.
After paying and getting a new name (see photos), we were able to go on a safari tour with our own vehicle. After about 5 minutes of driving, we already spotted the first large antelopes. 10 minutes later, we spotted the first herd of elephants at a waterhole. We first decided to take the Gorah Loop where we could see wild boars, meerkats, and zebras. Then we stopped at Zuurberg to admire the vastness of the entire Addo. We continued towards Haarpor Dam where we could see a huge elephant herd crossing the road in front of us. This time, Kosi even managed not to kill any animal (although barely). Unfortunately, we didn't see any lions or buffaloes, but we were still overwhelmed by the animals we could see. We were back at the resort at around 2 PM, where we spent the rest of the afternoon by the pool with our crime novels. In the evening, we had another fantastic 3-course dinner with an excellent rosé wine.
Tomorrow we will continue towards Knysna, where we will stay for 4 nights.
Updates will follow.
