In Groningen we were particularly enthusiastic about the forum. Here you can take the escalator up to the roof and walk across the skywalk. Here you have a fantastic view of the entire city. The forum was only opened in 2019 and offers libraries in various subject areas on a number of levels. Mainly for students but also other people who are curious. In the main area you can watch news 24 hours a day and there are various cafes. A pool table invites you to linger and for tourists there are comfortable wing chairs with integrated speakers and a tablet. You can explore Groningen virtually and have a coffee.
In the city itself, the Grote Markt and the Vismarkt are impressive. Markets for everyday needs take place here almost every day. There is now a supermarket in a historic market hall at Vismarkt.
Groningen itself is a mixture of student city and historical flair.
The free Park and Ride area in Kardinge is very practical for us campers, where you can quickly take bus lines 3 or 4 into the city.
