Green metropolis

Buga: 01.10.2018

Hello San Antonio.

Yesterday we found our way to the sunny city. We ended the evening at the motel grounds. Two cats, we call them Sheila and Leo, kept us company.

Today it was time to explore the city.

We started in the Japanese Garden. Whether it is really called that is still a mystery to us. Part of it was also signposted as the Chinese Garden. Well, the Asian Garden was definitely worth a visit. Green as far as the eye can see, many flowers and even a waterfall decorate the landscape. Large koi carp swim in the pond. The whole garden smells of flowers, which reminded us of the meadows at home. A real oasis where you can relax.

The drive to the city center, on the other hand, took a toll on our nerves.

Due to a bicycle event, the main road was closed. There were also detours. Only they all somehow led to dead ends… After about 5 attempts, we gave up on the signposted detours. We then simply drove off on our own and actually made it in the end. If you ever come here and go to a parking lot, make sure the machine works! Two out of three did not work, and the answer from the employee, when the third one also had problems, was that we were not forced to park here.

After further attempts and prayers, we finally managed to get a ticket.

We read a lot about the San Antonio River Walk on the internet. The area along the canal through downtown was designed like a small Venice. Small restaurants, cute shops, and lots of greenery.

Absolutely enchanting! Canal trips were also offered, but we walked the route. We had delicious pasta in a restaurant with a view of the water and finished our round.

There is even a River Theatre. Steps, planted with grass, serve as seating. We really liked the River Walk and it had a very relaxing atmosphere in such a huge city.
