January 19, 2024 Punta Arenas / Chile
We had gotten our tender tickets the evening before, but unfortunately our premonition was confirmed: we couldn't get off board again. Due to the strong wind, the port of Punta Arenas was closed and so we continued on.
I followed an interesting lecture about the Chilean fjords, which we would at least see.
Another talk showed what we could have seen if we had been able to visit the Falkland Islands. Despite the wind and cold, I ate my sparse meals (I'm serious about losing weight!) outside so I could admire the wonderful landscape of sea, mountains, islands, ice, waterfalls and glaciers.
An announcement from the captain prepared us for a restless night. We should take our anti-seasickness medication because we would feel the wind and waves in the Pacific.
Well then good night!
