Tag 228 - Canoe trip to 'Ko Lon'

Publié: 28.03.2020

Hey guys

Today we started the day very relaxed, but decided to go canoeing in the afternoon.

At around 1pm we packed some things and set off. We paddled for about 40 minutes (2.8 kilometers) to the beautiful island that we see every day. Once again we arrived at our destination exhausted, but it was definitely worth it! The beach there was simply amazing, the water crystal clear and we were all alone! We walked about 10 meters into the forest and admired the old trees. We walked along the beach for about 20 minutes and picked up trash along the way. Then we lay down in the sand and watched as the beach slowly came to life. Crabs scurried around with their shells looking for food. We sat there all afternoon and enjoyed our private beach. Suddenly we noticed that the water had already receded a lot and it was time for us to leave. We carried the canoe a long way out until the water came back and started paddling. Shortly afterwards, a fishing boat passed by, threw us a rope and towed us almost to our destination. That was great service! As you can see, the people here are still very friendly and helpful :).

Obviously, this is not the tour we had imagined, but as we can tell, there is so much to discover in our current area! There are many more beaches on the island - today definitely wasn't the last time we were there!

Back on land, we splashed around in the sea for a bit, got ready, and went out for dinner. We had burgers! We actually wanted to eat something Thai, but there was effectively nothing there...

Now we're back at our accommodation and enjoying the evening.

See you tomorrow!
