Cholula is not far from Puebla, which is known to some through the huge VW factory. The good old Beetle was still built here until 2003. Today, it's more the emotionally charged types like Jetta, Beetle or similar.
From a historical point of view, Cholula is interesting because it is located in the middle of the city, the largest pyramid in the world in terms of volume. However, you can't see it alone. Built and expanded over several centuries and largely abandoned for unknown reasons, it is already completely overgrown.
When Cortés captured the city in 1519, preempting an ambush, legend has it that he swore to build a church for every day of the year. In total, there were "only" 59. One of them, however, is on top of the pyramid. Irony....apparently no one knew that it was a building used as a foundation.
From Cholula, you have a direct view of the Popocatepétl volcano, which everyone has somehow heard of. Well....view. In the center of Mexico City and the still ongoing eruptions, you can imagine it. There are days when the view is really good. We didn't have such a day.
