Malacca is a small city located about 2 hours south of Kuala Lumpur. It is, like George Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is a city with a rich history, having been under Portuguese, Dutch, and English rule. This is reflected in its buildings. The city is also beautifully situated by a small river.
During our time there, we met two Syrians and two Egyptians who were selling their homemade jewelry on the street. We spent a cozy evening by the river with them and some locals.
On the recommendation of our hostel owner, we went to a restaurant that serves the best Tandoori Chicken. These are heavily spiced chicken skewers grilled in a pot-like oven. They also serve fresh Naan bread prepared in a similar oven. But it's better to check out the photos to see for yourselves... Mhmmmm.
