Wake up, breakfast, pack up and head off to White Water Ski Resort. During the 20-minute drive, we see nothing but blue sky, which makes our hearts race with excitement. After hardly seeing any snow in Nelson at an altitude of about 540 meters, the snow-covered mountains become more and more visible as we gain elevation. At the foot of the Whitewater ski resort at an altitude of about 1640 meters, there are towering snow-covered mountains and the sun is peeking over the mountain peaks. We quickly change into our ski gear, purchase our tickets for 87 Canadian dollars, and take the first chairlift. It's tiring to ride without a footrest, and none of the three chairlifts have footrests, so it's going to be a challenging day.

Even the slopes are groomed perfectly, so we start by skiing two runs on the regular slope before venturing into the powder runs amongst the trees. The runs are challenging, and we have occasional falls, but the landings in the powder snow are soft. By 1:00 PM, we are really tired and in need of a break and something to eat. After lunch, we hit the slopes again until the lifts close at around 3:30 PM.

Afterwards, we drive for about 1 hour and 20 minutes to Rossland, where Cathy is already waiting for us at the Airbnb. After some shopping and trading (Swiss chocolate for Canadian beer), we cook dinner (pasta casserole with spinach) and soon hop into bed because it was a very demanding day, especially for our legs.
