I hope you all enjoyed the Easter holidays and had a nice time with your family!
Easter this year (just like Christmas) wasn't like Easter for me. There is indeed an Easter bunny in New Zealand, but the season just didn't fit because it's getting really cold here. There was no Easter bonfire, no Easter egg coloring, and especially no Easter egg hunt... Nevertheless, I had a really good Easter weekend. Since we had Wednesday off (first because of rain and then because of Easter), Bella and I got a job at the air show. So we worked for a catering service for 4 days, which we really enjoyed because everyone was so nice and appreciated our help. We usually worked for about 12 hours, starting at 5 o'clock preparing the lunch bags for the volunteers, then making club sandwiches for afternoon tea, and then usually had to prepare something for the chefs, like cutting vegetables. At lunchtime, we drove to the airfield on 2 days and worked there in the service and were able to see parts of the different shows. It was really breathtaking how many airplanes were in the sky and what tricks they did. A bonus of the job, of course, was the good food that we were allowed to help ourselves to the whole time and of which we also took quite a lot with us on Sunday - typical backpackers. :D
On Monday, we took a trip to the Marlborough Sounds with a friend of ours, unfortunately the weather wasn't so good and it had rained a lot in the days before, so everything was pretty muddy, but it was still nice.
Yesterday, a few friends came back to Blenheim on their way to the ferry and we will spend another 2 days here with them before we go to Christchurch, including Dani. And then we hardly have any time left before we fly to Australia and by then we also have to sell our car.
