Day 6 (10.6.16): Narvik
Day 6 of our adventure. Honestly, no one needs Narvik. A mixture of Smörebrödland and Novosibirsk. The sights: a massive bridge construction site, two run-down shopping centers, a Stone Age stadium, the harbor. Otherwise: a lot of decay, poverty, border traffic, iron ore industry, and countless bored asylum seekers from the Sahel, trying to pass the time. Narvik has probably seen better days.
However, also worse ones. The bombing by the German Luftwaffe in 1940 did not help the city's beauty. We are looking forward to the Lofoten Islands.
We spend the afternoon at the hotel on the sunny and warm terrace with coffee and cookies. They call it deceleration. We are already getting really tan. No desire for experiments in the evening, so we go to Bella Italia, this time for burgers. Back to the hotel.
Now it's time to blog and wait for the opening of the European Football Championship. Romania vs France kicks off at 9 pm. It's a shame that Norway is not part of the championship. It seems like the championship doesn't exist for Norwegians.
