Hallihallo from the South Island,
Unfortunately, we don't like it so much in Gisborne despite the nice house, and the job search is also proving to be difficult (For example, I had a trial work with a drunk boss who insulted me in the end...). Despite that, we are having a few relaxed days, I'm recovering from my kidney infection, and we're going to the Rock Slides where you can slide down with a tire.
Sophia, a friend from Germany, arrives and before Fine, Philipp and Lukas head back to Auckland, we all tackle the Alpine Tongariro Crossing together (landscape from Mordor). Waking up at 4 am after 3 hours of sleep and then an 8-hour hike on a volcano with turquoise lakes and red-colored craters.
For the three of us (Matteo, Sophia, and me), we continue south with a stop at the beach before staying 6 nights in Wellington on the roadside. But we really like Wellington. We go surfing, to the Botanic Gardens, celebrate Sophia's birthday in an arcade game center, have coffee and eat delicious cakes, and visit the big museum.
On the 2nd, we take the ferry to the South Island at 2 am and immediately continue to Christchurch the next day. Here we move into a cozy hostel with our own room and a community garden, and we go job hunting.
Wish us luck!
