We actually overslept and were shocked at 9.00 am!!!! Quickly get dressed and then have breakfast - today with muesli, etc.
Afterwards, we pack up, say goodbye to the host and head to the Catlins on the South Scenic Highway, which is particularly worth seeing. We see a whole valley of Manuka trees, a New Zealand myrtle that is currently blooming. There is also the famous Manuka honey here. Next stop at the Clifden Suspension Bridge. Great route and then the sea, high waves, fresh air, great shells, beautiful stones - awesome!!!
Unfortunately, the supermarket described in Tokanui is nothing special. So for us that means: 50 kilometers detour, because that's where the next one is and we have to supply ourselves!
Our cottage is a dream, beautifully furnished with a terrace right on the dune with a small path to the beach. There is ebb and flow and very few people.
Pasta with pesto and a beer and then an evening walk on the beach, which is not as cold as the lake in Glenorchy!
