The world stands still - Even here in Kuala Lumpur. The million city that was full of life during our stay a month ago now resembles a ghost town after Malaysia's shutdown. Like in many European countries, public life has largely come to a standstill here as well.
We had decided to take our flight to Kuala Lumpur from Bali as our visa for Indonesia expired this week. Therefore, we are among the few who were still able to obtain a 90-day stay permit for Malaysia before the borders were closed here as well.
Of course, we had imagined our world trip differently, but we also feel responsible for doing our part to prevent the spread of the virus and will therefore temporarily suspend our travel activities. We will continue to monitor the situation and decide how to proceed.
Despite everything, we remain positive. The usual traffic smog of the city has almost completely disappeared and you can enjoy the blue sky and the sun.
In addition, accommodation prices have dropped significantly, so we were lucky to be able to rent a great apartment with an infinity pool and fitness studio.
We will spend the next few days doing sports, watching Netflix, reading, cooking, sunbathing, and taking walks in the KLCC Park, the green lung of the city.
All the best to Germany!
