After getting enough rest, we had breakfast at the hotel and prepared ourselves for the day. Then, we walked along the Perfume River until we reached the Citadel of Hue. It was built in the early 17th century during the Nguyễn Dynasty in the former capital. It is a magnificent imperial palace where you can spend several hours. There are countless buildings, temples, and parks, and you get a good insight into the history of Vietnam. We stayed in the huge complex until the afternoon and admired the architecture that was rebuilt after the war. After finally finding our way out of the Citadel after a few initial difficulties, we went to the city to have something to eat. In the early evening, we walked through the center of Hue and arranged a scooter for the next day.
