After the 'intensive' last days/weeks and after Bia's training course, we decided to go to a beach for the next two days and relax a bit.
We got the tip that the island Ko Samet is very suitable for this. Besides, it is not too far away from Bangkok.
So we got on the bus at the bus station in Bangkok and drove about 4 hours out of Bangkok. The bus took us directly to the port of Ban Phe from where we could take a ferry to the islands.
The ferry ride took about 40 minutes and was quite rough, as the sea was anything but calm. I had fun.
On the island, we set out to find the campsite we had read about. However, the search was pretty futile. Nobody knew anything about a campsite. Just when we were about to give up, we finally found a spot.
However, you could not rent tents as described on the internet, but had to bring your own. Since we didn't have a tent, we abandoned the idea and started looking for a hostel. This search was much easier, there were accommodations on every corner.
By the time we decided on a hostel, it was already evening.
After a self-cooked dinner, we bought ourselves some well-deserved beers and sat on the beach, including night swimming in the sea.
After refreshing ourselves, we had a fun night at the hostel with many conversations with other travelers. Everyone told their stories and tried to outdo each other.
The next morning, we sat on the beach and enjoyed swimming and doing nothing.
In the early afternoon, we started making our way back to Bangkok because we had plans with friends, Thai people Bia had met in the training course.
Together with them, we went to a food market in the evening and enjoyed a delicious meal.
