Mendoza in Argentina is my next stop. Mendoza is known for its wine. The perfect place to process the past few weeks.
In Patagonia, I saw a lot in a very short amount of time and it's hard to process all the impressions. That's why I didn't have any plans in Mendoza. I wanted to bring the blog up to date and my diary is also not current. I also talked a lot with Bella on the phone, which I unfortunately neglected in the past few weeks.
One day, I went on a bike tour of the wine region with a colorful group from the hostel. There was a Spaniard, a Frenchwoman, an American, a Swede, and me. A really fun group. So we took the bus out of the city after breakfast. Here we rented bikes, got a map with all the wineries, and off we went.
You stop at the winery and can sit down comfortably and order 3 glasses of wine to taste. They are particularly proud of their Malbec here. It's a red wine. In my opinion, it's quite strong stuff. It strongly reminds me of mulled wine and gives me a headache the next morning.
We made our way through 3 wineries and an olive oil farm. It was a lot of fun and in the evening we had an asado (barbecue) at the hostel. We sat together with more people from the hostel until late at night. The next day, I spent relaxing in bed.
I also spent the following days sitting in the hostel and writing in my diary and blog. Occasionally, I had a nice conversation, but for the most part, I just enjoyed some time alone.
