This Tuesday, an exercise at the university was canceled, which of course was the perfect excuse for also skipping my morning lecture (possibly the third time in a row. Oops.)
So I arranged to meet Anaïs, a girl I had met two weeks before and with whom I had done a lot since then.
I drove to a supermarket where she would then give me a ride so we would only use one car. Our first stop was the Bassins la mer and les aigrettes . Unfortunately, Les Aigrettes was closed, and since there were cameras in front of the barrier, we didn't dare climb over it. But we were able to enjoy the view of this enchanted bridge.
We then went on to Bassin la mer , where we had to notice, somewhat painfully, that schoolchildren also go on excursions during the week during the school holidays :D
The basin was still beautiful, there was a waterfall that you could see straight away and one that you could only see if you swam around the rock for a bit. We spent some time here eating our sandwiches and chatting.
When we got back to the car we decided to drive to Îlet Bethléem . There we took a beautiful little path where we could look at many interesting plants.
Since there were a lot of paths, we got a little lost, but it was so beautiful here that it didn't matter. We then sat briefly at the edge of the river and I swam a bit, but the current was quite strong, so we decided to look for another place.
We then arrived at an open space filled with abandoned buildings and ruins. That was pretty interesting and we looked around for a while. From there we went to another spot on the river, chatted, practiced skipping stones and took a short nap
We woke up from our nap with some difficulty and then decided to add a third basin : Cascade Délices . It was on the way back anyway, which is why it was a good idea. When we got there we met an old lady who didn't show us the right way, but led us to a place that was really enchantingly beautiful (and without other people).
We bathed briefly in the river, but were then eaten by literal swarms of mosquitoes and decided to move on.
When we arrived at the “right” place, we were no longer alone, but the place was still really beautiful. The waterfall was perfectly lit by the sun and it was fun to just watch the sparkle.
We were both really tired by now and decided to go home again around 4:30 p.m. So she dropped me off at the supermarket again and I drove the last 10 km home alone.
However, fate wasn't quite sure whether I really had enough Anaïs for today, which is why I had an accident with another Anaïs 3 km from my house. I was in a multi-lane roundabout and wanted to stay there, but Anaïs number 2 wanted to take the exit. It's just a shame that I was still between her and this one. I forgave her pretty quickly, but not my car door.
We were ultimately able to resolve it amicably and without insurance, but I would have liked to have saved myself the stress :D
