Day 12

Visited highlights: Aquaventure Waterpark, Mall of Emirates

Breakfast is largely skipped today. We make ourselves a coffee in the room and eat our biscuits and croissants from the supermarket. We check out, drop off our luggage, and receive our wristbands for the water park today.

As hotel guests are allowed to enter the park before the official opening, we are among the first today. We choose a sunbed on the "main beach" of the Rapids, as we know that we can't go around with the tubes. Although we hope that the entire Rapids course is open today, we want to play it safe.

Since it is still very empty now, the kids' favorite is once again the "Shark Attack" slide through the aquarium. They slide down it a few times, then we move on to the other slides. Our son splashes around in the Splash Park. Here too, the "giant bucket" is the biggest fun.

Unfortunately, today we cannot go around the Neptune Tower in the rafting channel. The elevator is closed again and all tourists are redirected with their tubes to the narrow channel leading to the main beach. Very disappointing! Therefore, we skip more rafting rides and have a lot of fun in the "Wave" instead.

It is sometimes so strong that it throws the kids off the tubes 😉 They find it hilarious and we have to go around here at least 10 times 😂

We leave the park at sunset and pick up our luggage at Atlantis. For dinner, we want to go to the Mall of Emirates today. We haven't been there yet.

At least my son and I are particularly impressed by the ski hall, which we can "visit" from the mall through a window. How cool! I think a little cool down is great, but my husband is absolutely not up for a skiing adventure in Dubai.

We arrive back in Abu Dhabi late in the evening and we are exhausted. Tomorrow is another day of "chilling" 😊
