Aveiro, the Venice of Portugal
We take the car ferry to Aveiro, the crossing takes less than 15 minutes. We are excited about the Venice of Portugal. We arrive in the evening and take a walk along the canal....

Our next destination is called Costa Nova. The small village is known for its colorful striped houses.
The story that the houses are better visible for the fishermen from the sea can safely be dismissed as a fable. The houses are all facing inland water :-)
It is nicely done, nice to look at. The beach is fantastic and can be explored via wooden walkways. This also prevents tourist crowds from walking through the dunes and destroying the sensitive vegetation.
