We take the car ferry to Aveiro, the crossing takes less than 15 minutes. We are excited about the Venice of Portugal. We arrive in the evening and take a walk along the canal. The brightly painted gondolas look really beautiful. They are powered by engines. We like the old town in Aveiro, even though it can't compete with the real Venice in Italy. We spend the night in a parking lot near the old town. However, we only noticed in the night that we are right next to a dance club and it is also on Rosenmontag... so anything but quiet. Only around 6 o'clock in the morning does peace return.
The next day we stroll through the shops in the city and have a delicious lunch. Afterwards, of course, we treat ourselves to a gondola ride.
