The journey is (also) the trip

Raindrops knocking on your tent wall... but first things first:
After what felt like the hundredth time of taking the bags off the bike, putting them back on, lashing the bike on the train and on the ferry, and unlashing them again, we finally arrived in Lofoten. The night train from Trondheim to Bodø was quite uncomfortable, with reclining seats that didn't all work. Somehow we were totally cramped and pretty tired. On the ferry to Lofoten we decided not to sleep in the tent as planned, but to take a room, or rather a small house, for the first night before departure, so that we could get some proper sleep and stretch out. That was the right decision! We found what we were looking for in Å, the place really is called that. Å is at the southernmost end of Lofoten and has a certain similarity to the feeling of being "at the ass end of the world". It is beautiful, mystically surrounded by green mountains. When you look out to sea, you can not only see the endless expanse, you can also feel it. You feel so small in this harsh environment that you just want to sit and stare at the sea... but there was still the plan with the North Cape... To be continued with a tent...
