This is our 'No, I don’t think we’ll be writing a blog this time' blog. A warm welcome to everyone who has asked us and to everyone else, of course. What is different this time? Actually, pretty much everything. The Gravels (Rosi 2.0) and Peter's Gravel are not joining us this time; instead, we have our mountain bikes. We are not traveling in Europe but in North America, Canada. We feel like we can take an endless amount of luggage, well, it's 23 kg + 23 kg of sports luggage with Edelweiss Air. The bikes weigh about 13 each, plus the large boxes for the flight. It was naturally another logistical achievement by Peter to get these into the boxes, unscrewing, padding, putting in, taking out, out, in, and starting over again. Long story short: thank you, Peter! What else is new? We will be participating in a bike race on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, www.bcbikerace.com. This whole thing was actually Anja's idea. Does one (or rather, does a woman) need such a challenge at 53? Yes, she does, because she's never done it before, and the announcement for the race 'Summercamp for adults' was the ultimate YES button in her brain. Fun, instead of being rigid like 'I will defeat you all, no matter the cost'. So, said and done - well not quite done yet, but we are on the way....currently in Port Renfrew, Vancouver Island. The race starts on May 23.
