Bye bye cinnamon roll - welcome GUINNESS

July 4, 2025 Zurich Airport: Well, luckily the flight is delayed by 3 hours, so there's plenty of time to write. But one thing at a time....
Flight? Yes, we are flying and the bicycles are coming too, so we'll see, we checked them in yesterday evening as sports luggage. We packed the bike bags into large bags and also handed them over during the Edelweiss Air evening check-in. If all goes well, everything is under us in the cargo hold while we enjoy the onboard service, cheese pastries, and cola.
Oh yes, by the way, we are flying to Cork in the south of Ireland.
The idea came up as always in the fall, so a Rosi replacement was needed. Nordkapp was the highlight, and that couldn't be topped. So we considered doing something where we have both never been and always wanted to go. IRELAND!! This time we only have 3 weeks, so the arrival and departure can't take 1 week again. With the ferry and train, it doesn't take less than 4 days, so we decided to fly.
The packing list hasn't changed much. Light luggage! Everything has proved itself, and we are trying to pack it just like we did for Norway. The biggest challenge is, of course, packing the bicycles. Anja is keeping a low profile - with comments and advice here and there. Peter is the expert. Anja is taking it easy. Peter... well, somewhat....
Now we are curious about what this trip will bring us. We barely had time to plan, and we've decided to simply follow the Eurovelo 1 along the west coast, tent and stove in tow - always along the Atlantic. The rest will come by itself, hopefully....
We now have one hour of flight time left, fog hangs over the English Channel and the 3 hours of waiting in Zurich have made us quite tired.....
