Lovely Petie
We sneak home for breakfast hoping the house lady has already left for work. Lucky us, it's only the man who brings us coffee. Yes, the house lady Suzanne has given us something...

Today we again have 'help yourself Breakfast'. We're doing that and are ready to go around 10 o'clock. The bikes slept in the garden shed and are dry. By the way, that’s allowed in most accommodations - very nice!
The clouds are gray and there’s a light wind, rain gear, or not? We both decide against it. Wishful thinking. It's about 2 kilometers to Loop Head Lighthouse. That’s the westernmost point of the island; the nearest neighbor is Newfoundland; Canada. The thought of it is impressive, far-reaching, and liberating. We stand on the cliffs and enjoy the wind in Anja’s hair ;) and we should probably start heading north soon. The dark clouds are showing us the way. We follow the road above the cliffs and make a stop at the Bridges of Ross, a natural bridge formed by wind and water. Further along the Eurovelo route to the Kilkee Cliffs. Unfortunately, the rain had already reached the beautiful cliffs before us. We barely managed to put on our rain jackets when everything was already wet. The rain clouds chased us from behind, and we skipped the View Point. It felt really disgusting, wet, and cold, and the thoughts of 'Why are we doing this anyway?' were once again very present. After about 3 kilometers, it finally stopped following us, it got brighter and the Kilkee Cliffsides appeared before us, also beautiful cliffs near the town of Kilkee. An Irish seaside resort with small colorful houses and bustling activity in the water and on the beach. We finally take our well-deserved break and can eat something dry on the beach. Phew... first, breathe deeply.... Cadbury chocolate helps with that. The rainy ride cost a lot of energy and was frustrating - we could have well used the energy elsewhere, but the frustration helps to release the energy (Anja's physics lesson).
Anyway, the weather isn’t bad, and we ride dry towards our accommodation in White Strand Beach.
Before that, we discover a great viewpoint high above the cliffs, which we have all to ourselves. Wonderful, the sun is shining partly, the wind is blowing gently, and the Atlantic crashes roughly against the cliffs. Bang!! Romance over. Rosie slams full force onto the path. Oh no....!! Fortunately, just a few small scratches. The bags cushioned it well. Now both bikes have received their blue spots, so that's taken care of. We can be glad we're still in one piece, the rest is (well in Anja’s eyes) irrelevant. Peter is already quite annoyed that both bikes have scratches. They say scars make you interesting; scratches somehow do the same (in Anja’s eyes ;) ....
